SCOTA has donated proceeds from our annual raffle to a variety of deserving local individuals and organizations over the decades. Since 2020 our focus has moved to supporting smaller, underfunded, or neglected Santa Cruz organizations and people doing good work. Here are some of the organizations we've contributed to in the decades since our founding. Our goal is to increase our contributions each succeeding year.

The Jean Kvamme Center for Adaptive Riding

The Jean Kvamme Center for Adaptive Riding provides a caring and effective therapeutic riding program to the special needs community in the Santa Cruz region. These needs may be the result of issues occurring as early as birth or may come from an injury or accident suffered during the course of life.

Cal Fire Benevolent Foundation

The Cal Fire Benevolent Foundation provides emotional and financial assistance to firefighters, the families of fallen firefighters, and the communities they protect. This organization has a focus on northern California so this IS our backyard.

Native Animal Rescue

Native Animal Rescue (NAR) is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of injured, sick, and orphaned wildlife in Santa Cruz County.

The Santa Cruz SPCA provides safe harbor for animals in need and promotes an active humane community through adoption, advocacy, and education.

Rising Worldwide

In 2015, in partnership with Rising Survivor Entrepreneurs, Rising Worldwide began implementing Rising Safe and Sound Workshops in Santa Cruz County. Initially, these workshops took place at community centers and youth from over 15 different high schools attended. For the last several years Rising Worldwide expanded its reach to provide an in-school version of its workshop to students, teachers, counselors, and parents. The mission of the workshop is to reduce the vulnerability of children by providing the fundamental information needed to stay safe and seek help from potential exploitation.

Jacob's Heart

Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Services exists to improve the quality of life for children with cancer and support their families in the challenges they face.
